About Buda American Legion Post 213

American Legion Post 213 has been chartered since 2016. Initially we met in the training room of the Buda Fire Department. In conjunction with the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 12161 and the Amvets Post 115, we created the Central Texas Veterans Center, located in the former Buda Police Department Building at 100 Houston Street, Buda, Texas 78610. The VFW and the American Legion now meet there exclusively and we have separate offices. The three organizations jointly operate the Central Texas Military Museum in a part of the building.

Buda Post 213 is not your granddad's post. We have returned the the basics of what the American Legion was orininally formed to be, over 100 years ago, in the wake of the First World War. Instead of a smoke-filled bar and gambling, we are focused on being community oriented and serving the needs of ourmembers, veterans in general and our local communities. We have made a conscious decision to be inviting and inclusive and offer and participate in activities that improve the quality of life of our members and the general community. We offer programs for veterans of the greatest generation that won World War II - to the vietnam veterans - to the young veterans returning from the middle-east conflicts of today.

We have an American Legion Riders Chapter, a Sons of American Legion Squadron and an American Legion Auxiliary Chapter. We welcome all veterans and family members of veterans to join us in preserving our military history, serving the community and being a light for those in need.
